My lifetime goal

November 26th, 2007 · No Comments

My lifetime goal is to have a net worth of $100 million.

I don’t really care about having a yacht or a big house, but I would like to be able to live comfortably and then have a big impact when I am old. With $100 million, I should be able to achieve something worthwhile.

I want to set up a scholarship fund with that money, because we don’t have free public universities in the US. In order for people to have equal chances, they need to have equal access to education, which doesn’t exist now.

In an increasingly automated economy, education is the most valuable asset, and it is not being equitably distributed. Lots of students are faced with starting their careers deep in the hole from student loans, which dissuades able potential students from persuing the career of their choice. In the end, this is lost opportunity for our economy as a whole. Our priority on education is too low and with $100 million, I could do my part to increase these resources being directed toward long term prosperity.

I was fortunate enough to receive a scholarship, and I am grateful for that and am determined to give back to future generations.

“If you’re in the luckiest 1 per cent of humanity, you owe it to the rest of humanity to think about the other 99 per cent.”
